With world-class coaching and an ohana-style atmosphere, you’ll leave camp with more confidence, deeper knowledge, and lasting connections.

Two Weeks • Newport Beach, California

  • Week 1: January 19–22, 2026

  • Week 2: January 26–29, 2026

What’s New for 2026

This year, we’re putting a stronger emphasis on big boat coaching and training. The goal is to maximize quality time in the OC6, where athletes can learn team dynamics, refine technique, and build confidence in all conditions. Being in the OC6 allows us to train farther, explore more ocean conditions, and give you more valuable experience time on the water.

There will still be set times for OC1 paddling, but with limited OC1 resources available in Newport, small boat opportunities will be reserved for paddlers who:

  • Bring their own OC1, or

  • Arrange a rental/loan through another paddler (not through Puakea Designs).

If that’s you, we’ll place you into an OC1 segment for one of the camp days. For most participants, the focus will remain on OC6 sessions—giving you more time on the water and less time spent on morning logistics like rigging and organizing.

Why this camp?

  • Learn directly from high caliber athletes and coaches and athletes

  • Get hands-on technique work and team experience in OC6s

  • Build confidence in surf, downwind, and flatwater conditions

  • Connect with women paddlers from across the country

  • Be part of the Puakea Designs ohana

This camp is designed for women who want to build off their current skills and gain more confidence while preparing for races. The primary goal of this camp is to provide women with a secure and supportive environment where they can learn and train together, with a strong focus on their needs and goals.

We aim for each camper to come out of this camp with more confidence on and off the water.
