Tested by top professional paddlers and receiving their thumbs up, we are beyond stoked to introduce to you, the Recon Downwinder jacket. Light weight and packed full of features, our cut and sew method makes it one of a kind.

We have made this jacket with a soft on skin, yet durable, lightweight fabric that is water resistant to light water contact. Designed for paddling, we’ve lengthened the back and added a lock fit elastic waistband to cover you during forward reach.

Throw on the hood for sun protection, we’ve added a soft flex visor. Really windy? We’ve made the hood with a lock fit crown and drawstring clips to keep things tight, and an air flow zipper for wind to pass through the hood. 

On an escort boat and don’t like your hood parachuting, lock it down with our anchor system. A little cold in a change race, keep your hands warm with our thumbhole sleeve design. 

This jacket is a limited edition release, and a first for the market.

If you ordered a Talis Crew x Puakea Designs long sleeve jersey earlier this year - the jacket will fit a little bit larger than the jersey. 

Coloring: This is a multi-colored jacket that is slate grey blue, light blue with hints of yellow and black.

We will take pre-orders for 2 weeks and then the order will be processed for production. Production turnaround time on these jackets is 6 weeks. Once we receive the jerseys in house, please allow up to 5 business days for order fulfillment. This does not include shipping times to customer. 

Estimated ship date from Puakea Designs for pre-orders is end of March 2024. This is subject to change. 

We use USPS priority mail for shipping in most cases.
